Jeremy Menez has had some good opportunities for France in this opening 30 minutes. This is the best of them. Franck Ribery's cross from the right is just behind Karim Benzema but breaks for Menez, who has driven on into the box. However, with only Andriy Pyatov to beat, Menez's shot is poorly directed and the keeper makes a great save to keep the scores level.

Almost an opening for Ukraine as the ball breaks to Andriy Voronin 40 yards from goal. His pass through to Andriy Shevchenko is well over-hit, though, and his fellow striker doesn't have a chance of catching it. Even in his rapid prime he'd have given that up as a lost cause.
